Farah: Let's test the political system

Joseph Farah's really becoming quite the activist when it comes to lowering the price of oil. The only problem is that the Democratic Congress is not going to listen; it's in their best interest to keep gas prices high and the economy bad until November.

Such is the price of a two-party system. :(

Despite polls showing overwhelming popular support for lifting the moratorium on offshore drilling, congressional leadership is stonewalling any vote on the issue.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are determined not to hear the clear and resounding voice of the American people who recognize skyrocketing gasoline prices are hurting families and the nation's productivity.

But I don't believe they've really heard from you yet.

I don't believe there has been a serious, organized effort to direct the American people to action.

I don't believe they can withstand the pressure million of us can apply by calling and e-mailing our senators and representatives before they try to get away for their August recess and an early October adjournment.

This is a great opportunity to test the system.

Let's see if representative government in America still works.

Let's test the political system
