Commissioner warns of homosexual "social and sexual agenda"

So why am I posting this? Because said commissioner is one B. Brian Blair, former professional wrestler. Could this be his master plan to stop the Iron Sheik from his world-wide "humbling" tour, of which Blair very narrowly excaped during Wrestlemania III?

Quotes: "I have always believed that all citizens are equal and should be treated accordingly. On the other hand, no group of citizens should be given government sanction and support to promote their social and sexual agenda upon the rest of us and especially, on our children."

"Considering the fact that the same school system does not want to allow just one Minute of Silence in the classroom for God, this is preposterous."

"Can you imagine asking for a 'Day of Cheer for Heterosexuality?' If no action is taken to change this policy, then perhaps it is time for another surgical strike from the majority; 'A Day of Abstention' from school participation might be considered."

Shawn Michaels I am...

Well not really. But last night we learned how to do the side thrust kick, which is known in the world of professional wrestling as the Super Kick, or Sweet Chin Music.

So watch out. If you're 3 feet tall or less and piss me off...kiai! You'll take one to the chin!

4-year-old may be responsible for death of toddler brother

So the mom is claiming that this kid was imitating a Smackdown wrestler.

I suppose I'm a bad person if I ask what a four-year-old was doing watching wrestling in the first place.

Shawn Michaels I Ain't

Still learning Shotokan Karate... yesterday, we practiced side snap kicks, which are the precursor for a side thrust kick (aka Sweet Chin Music). Needless to say, I'm still a little clumsy at this point.

But I didn't hurt anyone, including myself, so everything is great so far. I'm actually considering sticking with it after the six-week intro classes are done.

TNA "Lockdown" news, courtesy of WWE

It's so strange that WWE is covering TNA and ROH news.

What's even stranger that is WWE is just posting things from PWInsider.com and other "news" sites that steal their newz from PWInsider.com.

Anyhow, go to wwe.com and click on 'Insider News' to see what they're posting. It's pretty funny when they post something about their own company and credit a site like "Lords of Pain" for it, though.

Mayweather to wrestle Big Show for $20M

Are you serious?

LOS ANGELES -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. will earn a record $20 million for his first professional wrestling match next month.

The undefeated WBC welterweight champion will take on Paul "Big Show" Wight as part of WWE's "WrestleMania XXIV" at Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., on March 30.

Taking USB Flash drive dontations

So here's the story...

I have a great game called Fire Pro Wrestling Returns on PS2. It's, like, the most customizable wrestling game ever.

I need to be able to download created characters from the Internet and load them into my PS2 so that I can do cool stuff like this, this, and this.

It's a lot more complicated than you would think. First, you need to download the files. Then you need to transfer them to your PS2 memory card. It overwrites your current save, so you need to have another memory card to back it up to, and then transfer it to the original memory card.

So after lying to my wife and saying that I was going to the gym after work, I bought a PS2 Action Replay Max with 16MB Memory which (in theory) allows you to copy files from a USB flash drive to a PS2 memory card.

The CD luckily loaded on my PS2. So people were having lots of trouble with that. It recognized the flash drive, but it couldn't see any data on it. I read that it is pretty common for drives that are 1 Gig or more. In fact, most sites recommend a flash drive with only 128 MB.

None of the flash drives lying around my house or office, including our iPods are less than 1 Gig. So if anyone has a smaller one I could borrow and try out, let me know.

If it works, I'll let you come over and play this, this, and this.

WWE: Could the "brand split" finally be over?

STAMFORD, Conn., February 7, 2008 - The following statement was issued today by World Wrestling EntertainmentÒ:

After a successful decade of "SmackDown" on both UPN and The CW, World Wrestling Entertainment and The CW have agreed to conclude our partnership. Since The CW's exclusive negotiation period ran out as of last Thursday, January 31, we have been contacted and have been in negotiations with other networks. "WWE SmackDown" will continue to air on The CW until the conclusion of the 2007-08 broadcast season. We are grateful to Les Moonves, Dawn Ostroff, and their entire organization for bringing "WWE SmackDown" to millions of viewers for so many years.

THE BACK-LEG FRONTKICK Year in Review

This is so funny I can't even come up with a good analogy to tell you how funny it is.

THE BACK-LEG FRONTKICK By Sean Carless

EDIT: Am I evil for laughing at line like this: "Lex Luger is apparently paralyzed after suffering a spinal stroke. And somewhere out there, a member of Elizabeth's family is glad they bought that Voodoo doll."

or this: "But still, to think there may have been warning signs. And not just Jim Ross basically telling us that the noble Atlanta Wolverine (indigenous to the climate no doubt) had RABIES. Fuck this steroid shit! Someone find the animal that bit Chris before it strikes again!"

Lex Luger Update

From 1wrestling.com:

Lex Luger was transferred last week to an Atlanta area hospital. Luger has not regained the use of his arms or legs after suffering what is thought to have been a "spinal stroke" while on the west coast to attend an autograph convention last month.

Luger had been scheduled to have hip replacement surgery last week and had been told by doctors that they were amazed he was able to walk given the deteriorating condition of both of his hips.

Booker T comments on his WWE release

I want to address something that has been on my mind for quite some time now in regards to my recent suspension from WWE. I want to state for the record that I was not taking any illegal substance, or anything outside of my physician's care, and that the suspension was unwarranted. However, rather than fight the suspension or publicly voice my discontent, I used this recent hiatus to rest, work with the P.W.A., and reflect on the direction of my career as a professional wrestler. I also, for the record, have never at any time ordered anything from "Signature Pharmacy". This allegation is upsetting, and the careless and slanderous reporting of this matter is currently being addressed by my legal counsel.

I would like to also address any possible rumors or misinformation regarding our release from WWE. I had been unhappy for quite some time with the direction that the Company was going in. In fact, I asked for my release back in July for that very reason. However, after further contemplation, I decided to continue on with WWE because of my passion for this industry and my desire to entertain the fans. Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that my unhappiness with my work environment was beginning to take a great toll on other aspects of my life. I knew that it was time to make some extremely tough decisions. Therefore, in the interest of my mental, physical, and spiritual well being, I along with my wife, asked for our release from World Wrestling Entertainment for the second time within months. We were graciously granted our release and we have since amicably parted ways. While the business relationship between ourselves and the WWE has ended, we will continue to be involved in Professional Wrestling. We hope that our loyal fans will follow us as we make this transition.

RAW Rating: 2.8

Wow. PW Insider is reporting that Monday Night Raw did a 2.8 this week, which was only the night after a pay-per-view where the vacant WWE title would be awarded to a new champion.

This is great news!

I hope WWE's ratings continue to slide. Maybe, just maybe, this will cause the owner of the company to realise that their Monday night rating is one-third of what it was when his daughter took over the creative end of the company.

Either that or they'll blame Jeff Hardy. (They have to blame someone, so it might as well be him.)

Jericho to FEEL THE PEDIGREE

Big news from PW Insider...

..it is believed that Chris Jericho has indeed signed a new deal with World Wrestling Entertainment. Sources within TNA, who were in negotiations with Jericho hoping to bring him on board, have confirmed they've learned that Jericho opted to return to WWE, where he held the Undisputed WWF championship for several months and headlined Wrestlemania X8 against Triple H in Toronto.
...
Given the injury to WWE champion John Cena, Jericho's return is an influx of fresh, top-tier talent that the company can use at just the right time. Since the "SaveUs_222" viral campaign is being built towards a big surprise, it should be noted those videos began about two weeks back, the same time period Jericho backed away from negotiations with TNA, according to sources.

Lance Storm Commentary

Lance Storm takes a look at TNA Wrestling going to two hours this week.

How is it that everyone, from a pro like Storm to an idiot mark like me, can see what is wrong with TNA except for the people in charge of the company?

(Creative) has been the problem all along and in my opinion has done nothing but get worse as time passes. The show makes less and less sense each week, and my first choice would be fire everyone who has a hand in creating the current product. Barring that I would impose a few limitations on them at the very least. No more blending of angles. Pick your 3 top programs and focus on them and keep them sharp. The constant run ins and over lapping of angles to sell 2 or 3 angles in one segment has got to stop. They have 2-hours now take the time you need to sell each program properly.

WWE to "go real"

Here's a parody article by good friend (and so-so cousin...jk) James Sabata.

My favorite part:

Seventeen years ago, (Vince) admitted Wrestling was not real. In doing so, he did not have to answer to the steroid allegations. However, this time around, Vincent Kennedy McMahon realized that it was only professional wrestling being targeted. No one seems to mind that steroid use is abundant in Hockey, Football, Basketball, the LPGA, and Baseball.
...
By becoming a legitimate sport, the hope is that they will no longer be targeted by Congress or anyone else asking bothersome questions.

I'm sad to say that I've never seen a single one of his matches. From the photos I had in the old Apter mags, he definitely had a unique look.

RIP Missing Link.

Byron "Dewey" Robertson, who gained his most fame as the Missing Link in several territories as well as WWE in the late 80s, passed away at 3:30 a.m. today at Henderson Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario after a year-long battle with cancer.

The death was not unexpected, as doctors did not expect him to live the night on Tuesday. Robertson was 68.
