What is the best piece of advice you have for new writers?
Stick with it.
Are there any writing resources, such as books or websites, you’d like to recommend?
‘On Writing’ by Stephen King is very motivating. King recommends aspiring writers to read a lot and write a lot.
If you could go back and find yourself five years ago, what advice would you give yourself?
Stick with it.
What is your favorite type of fiction and who are your favorite authors?
I like all kinds of fiction. Favourite authors include H P Lovecraft, Thomas Ligotti, Raymond Chandler, F. Scott Fitzgerald.
How do you measure success when it comes to your writing?
Publication and peer approval.
What tips do you have for finding time to write?
Write six days a week. It’s okay to be flexible about how long you write for each day.
How do you deal with rejections?
By revising a rejected story and sending it to another magazine.
What are your writing goals for the next twelve months?
To finish a novella.
What are your writing goals for the next five years?
I have an idea for a second novella or novel.
