Theme of Absence is an online magazine of speculative flash fiction and short stories. The goal of this site is to provide quality short fiction for free and to give both new and experienced authors another place to promote their work online.
Original fiction appears every Friday, along with an optional interview with the author.

Jason Bougger
Jason is the owner and editor of Theme of Absence. He lives in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife and kids. He is the author of the YA novel, Holy Fudgesicles, and has published over twenty short stories.
He also maintains Write Good Books, a blog dedicated to helping new writers improve their craft and learn about the industry.

Betty Rocksteady
Betty is an author and illustrator from Canada. As a child, her grandfather led her to believe The Weekly World News was the honest-to-goodness truth. Between those strange articles, and an early exposure to Stephen King and EC comics, she has been instilled with a love of the bizarre and horrifying all her life.
Her fiction has been previously published by Theme of Absence, Halloween Forevermore, and Another Realm.

Tim Bougger
